OSCA Fun Fact

When Phoenix Gold launched the range in 2001, a Russian car audio magazine reviewing the Tantrum T400.4 actually questioned why the brand had chosen such an angry identity for its new amplifiers. The name Tantrum refers to an outburst of anger, a fitting reflection of the bold, performance-driven car audio culture of the early 2000s.

Phoenix Gold Tantrum — Built to Make a Scene

When Phoenix Gold introduced the Tantrum series in 2001, even the name made a statement. Meaning an outburst of anger, Tantrum captured the rebellious energy of an era when car audio was about making an impression as much as making music. With aggressive industrial styling, powerful amplification and distinctive blue illumination, the range embodied the bold personality of early-2000s car audio culture, a time of custom amplifier racks, booming subwoofers and builds designed to turn heads. Years after the range was discontinued, dedicated Phoenix Gold enthusiasts are still collecting Tantrum amplifiers.
