Return & Refund Policy
At Old School Car Audio (OSCA), we want you to be confident in what you’re buying and we’re here to help if something is not quite right.
To start a return, exchange, or warranty claim you can contact us at info@oldschoolcaraudio.com.au. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 4/31 Oxleigh Drive, Malaga, Western Australia 6090
Please do not send any item back to us without contacting us first. Returns sent without prior approval may not be accepted.
Damages, Issues & Warranty Claims
Please inspect your order when it arrives and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item. We’ll evaluate the issue and work with you to make it right.
All our car audio products are supplied with a 12-month manufacturer warranty, unless otherwise stated. Manufacturer warranties are in addition to any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
If you believe a product is faulty, we may ask for details such as photos, video, installation information, wiring details, system configuration, test results, or an installers report. In some cases, the item will need to be returned to us for inspection and testing before exchange is approved.
Warranty or fault claims may be refused where the issue is caused by incorrect installation, misuse, abuse, improper wiring, incorrect gain or signal settings, insufficient power supply, water damage, physical damage, unauthorised modification, or use outside the manufacturer’s specifications.
In some cases, we may request evidence that installation or testing was carried out correctly by a suitably qualified person. This may include an authorised or registered Australian car audio retailer, installer, technician or other competent professional with relevant car audio experience.
Change-of-Mind Returns
We may accept change-of-mind returns within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is returned in unused, uninstalled, undamaged, complete and resaleable condition.
Returned items must include all original packaging, manuals, accessories, supplied components and proof of purchase.
For approved change-of-mind returns requested within 5 days of delivery, no restocking fee will apply, provided the product is returned in the required condition.
For approved change-of-mind returns requested after 5 days but within 30 days of delivery, a restocking fee of up to 20% of the product purchase price may apply.
This fee is deducted from the refund amount. It helps cover the business costs involved in processing the return, including lost profit, inspection time, handling, administration, repackaging, payment processing costs, and any reduction in the product’s resale value.
We do not apply this fee automatically in every case. It depends on the item, the timing of the return, the condition of the product and whether it can be resold as new.
When We May Refuse a Return or Refund
Change-of-mind returns are not guaranteed.
We do our best to provide clear product descriptions, specifications, compatibility information and advice so customers can make an informed decision before purchasing. Because many car audio products are technical and application-specific, it is the customer’s responsibility to have the technical know-how and ensure suitability before placing an order.
That said, please contact us if you have purchased the wrong item or are unsure about compatibility. We may be able to work with you on a return, exchange or alternative solution, but this is assessed case by case and is not guaranteed.
This section applies to change-of-mind returns only and does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law if a product is faulty, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
Notwithstanding the above, if merchandise is being shipped to a customer in the European Union, you may have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification.
To be eligible, the item must be returned in the same condition that you received it: unused, uninstalled, undamaged, complete, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
For EU change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied. We may deduct an amount for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the item.
Refunds
We’ll notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know whether the refund has been approved.
If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days for your bank, card provider or payment platform to process the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@oldschoolcaraudio.com.au.
Original shipping charges are not refundable for change-of-mind returns unless required by law.
Where a restocking fee, damage deduction or partial refund applies, this amount will be deducted from the refund before it is processed.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
If a product has a major problem, you may be entitled to a replacement or refund. If the problem is minor, we may repair the item, replace it, or provide another remedy in accordance with applicable law.
